Do we all know what a concierge is?
It's my dream career, and the thing I love most about it is that involves knowing everything happening in the city and sharing that knowledge with people, be it recommending places to shop and eat to getting impossible-to-get reservations for hotel guests.
I've decided to turn this blog into a concierge-like service, pertaining to food, with you being my "clients".
What this means is that I want you to tell me what food-related item you're interested in finding, and I will research the topic and find all the best places for you to get the item (and probably tell you places to stay away from).
We'll see how it goes. I haven't quite figured out what I want to do with this blog yet.
Thank you so much to my regular readers for your great input though. Now's your chance to get your burning food questions answered! :)

You know what I want. Treacle sponge! My research hasn't turned up any in Vancouver...
ReplyDeleteHey there! I've been watching a lot of the TLC show "Cake Boss" lately, and I have this sudden fascination with red velvet cake. It looks absolutely delicious. I read your post about red velvet cake and how, unfortunately, no place in Vancouver sells it (I currently live in the city). I'm heading back to the USA soon and for my last family get-together before I go, I would like to make a red velvet cake. However, I'm notoriously adept at finding awful recipes online, which seem good until put into action, at which point (only too late) a horrible monstrosity of food is created and I am blamed for being a terrible baker.
ReplyDeleteSince you know food and are closer to home than some anonymous AllRecipes contributor, I was wondering if you had any tried-and-true recipes for red velvet cake that use natural beet juice. I heard red velvet is bland, so something that calls for a lot of chocolate would be nice, too.
Thanks, and happy eats!
-Bonnie
Sorry Bonnie, but I don't bake. I just find the best versions of food the city has to offer and eat those. I've updated the post to include a location that does sell red velvet cake though. Hope you found a good recipe!
